As the newest supporter of World Thrombosis Day, Precision BioLogic joins the ever-increasing list of partners as a Global Contributor to help place the global spotlight on the condition responsible for the three leading causes of cardiovascular death – heart attack, stroke and venous thromboembolism (VTE or venous blood clots).

The seriousness of thrombosis – or blood clots – is often overlooked or misunderstood. To address this disconnect, the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) is leading World Thrombosis Day with more than 200 health/medical and patient organizations around the world to focus on increasing public and health professionals’ awareness of potentially deadly blood clots in the leg and lungs, the risk factors, symptoms and the importance of prevention.

In support of the World Thrombosis Day mission, Precision BioLogic understands the importance of increasing the knowledge and awareness of thrombosis and to ultimately reduce deaths and disabilities from thromboembolic disease. A leading manufacturer of frozen diagnostic products for the assessment of coagulation disorders, Precision BioLogic works with its laboratory, biotech and pharmaceutical partners, and supports initiatives such as the World Thrombosis Day campaign, to improve patient outcomes by addressing current and future challenges in the diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring of disease.

“Precision BioLogic is pleased join ISTH in the fight against thrombosis and support World Thrombosis Day,” says company president Michael Scott.
